Launching with your Youth Group

ROC is always happy to welcome well-behaved youth groups out to our launches. You will find our members to be eager to help your fliers with their projects. Your group may join us at any regular monthly launch or at our 3-day ROCstock launches.

We launch the second Saturday of each month at Lucerne Dry Lake in California (see schedule to the left). We try to begin by 8 AM, and launch until 2-4 PM.

ROC supplies launch facilities and power for the launchers. We have launch rods for 1/8", 3/16", 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2" launch lugs; rail launchers are also available. ROC also provides porta-potties (doo doo and pee pee and tee pee only!). So, just bring your rockets, motors, and supplies - motors, rocket kits, and some supplies may also be purchased from onsite vendors.

For youth groups, there is a $1 per youth per day launch fee, payable on site by the responsible adult leader. There is no additional fee for camping - however, be sure to read the Camping Page because there are some BLM rules we all must follow.

Be sure to read both the Flyers Page and the Spectators Page prior to attending, and please discuss these rules with your group.

If your group is interested in performing a service activity while at the launch, please contact us with your request.

Please also note that if you wish to conduct any fund raising activity at the launch, you must have a BLM sellers permit (see the Be a Vendor page for more details.) Sorry, but we can't make any exceptions.
